LAWTON, Okla. (August 4, 2017) – Arvest Bank is pleased to announce the third edition of its Annual Veteran’s Day Art Contest in conjunction with The Armed Services YMCA. Every child in kindergarten through sixth grade will have the opportunity to draw a picture based on the theme “My Military Family.”

Nine children in three different age divisions will win Visa Gift Cards. The age divisions are Kindergarten – 1st grade, 2nd – 3rd grade and 4th – 6th grade. Winners in each division will receive $100 Visa Gift Cards, while runners-up will receive $50 gift cards and third-place finishers $25.

The winners will be announced during the second night of the annual Armed Services YMCA YFry on November 9 at Great Plains Coliseum. Attendees at that event can also vote on a new category: Best In Show, the winner of which will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card. All of the submitted artwork will be at the YFry for attendees to view.

Entries must be returned or postmarked by Friday, October 20. They may be sent to Arvest Bank, Attn: Angela Spradlin at 5201 SW Lee Blvd., Lawton, OK 73505. There is no cost to enter. Entries must be in color and on a white 6x8 sheet of paper to be judged. Oversized and three-dimensional entries will not be judged.

All artwork submitted by a child of active duty or retired (20-plus years of service) members of Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and National Guard/Reserves will be eligible to be entered into the Armed Services YMCA National art contest. Entrants do not need to be a member of military family to be awarded at the local level.

Children attending the YFry will also have the opportunity to create a brand new debit card for Arvest Bank. Entry forms and drawing utensils will be given out at the YFry, so children can create whatever they would like to see on a debit card. Arvest and The Armed Services YMCA will then pick a winner. The debit card will feature the artwork as well as The Armed Services YMCA logo. The winning card will then be available for customers to choose as their debit card.
