Miracle League of Arkansas
Arvest in Central Arkansas was given the opportunity to help out at a Miracle League of Arkansas game.  Disabled children in our community have expressed the desire to play baseball just like their typical peers, including dressing in uniform, making plays in the field, and rounding the bases.

The Miracle League of Arkansas makes this dream a reality for these children.

Several Arvest associates volunteered their time on Saturday, April 23rd at the Junior Deputy Fields on Cantrell Road in Little Rock.

Miracle League volunteers are called “buddies,” and they are mostly needed to support and cheer on the players, as well as help them bat and get around the bases.

1 Million Meals Going Strong in April

Saturday, April 23 at 11:57 AM

Through the first half of April our associates and customers have raised over 170,000 meals for the hungry in our communities and we thank you!  Arvest has also added funds to provide an additional 100,000 meals - bringing the current total to more than 270,000. We still have a long way to go, but by working together we can do it.

There have been some great stories about how associates and customers are making a difference on the way to 1 Million Meals:

On Thursday in Tulsa a customer making a deposit was so amazed when he asked about this promotion that he immediately wrote a check for $50 to donate to the cause;

A teller in Stillwater, OK, sold $100 worth of plates to one customer - our customers have shown an overwhelming response when asked to help;

A customer in Jane, MO, dropped off 159 food items which will create 397 meals;

Another customer in a Rogers, AR, location overheard associates talking about the branch fundraising goal and he donated $100 on the spot, representing 500 meals;

Our local business partners have also heard the good news and have begun donating items.  We are pleased to report that our friends at both Smuckers and Peter Pan have each donated a case of peanut butter.  The Lifelong Learning Center will be bringing 200 canned good items next week.  On top of all of this we just learned that another customer donated $105 to help feed the hungry!

Arvest customers have big hearts and we are so glad to partner with them in all of our communities!

'Autism Speaks' in Greater Kansas City

Friday, April 22 at 01:31 PM

Once a month Arvest associates in Greater Kansas City dress casual for a small fee which is then donated to a local charity; they have coined this initiative, Casual for a Cause.

During the month of March, Arvest associates in Kansas City allocated their Casual for a Cause collection to Autism Speaks, an organization committed to changing the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.  In total, Arvest GKC associates raised $905!

Autism affects 1 in 110 people and 1 in 70 boys.  Arvest associate Patrick James wanted to be a part of the check presentation because his son is also affected by autism and supports this worthy cause.
