Arvest Kansas City Spotlights Jasper's Italian Restaurant

Monday, August 29 at 09:03 AM

Jasper Mirabile, Sr., founder of Kansas City’s world-renowned Jasper’s Italian Restaurant, had a saying: “bere e mangiare bene”—drink and eat well. Through his sons Jasper Jr. and Leonard, and now his grandson Jasper III, that mantra lives on into its fourth generation.

Jasper’s Restaurant represents a rich family history that began long before the opening of the first Jasper’s in 1954. Over the years, generations of Mirabile's have worked together and traveled the world in search of new flavors and dishes to bring a world-class restaurant to the Midwest. Since the beginning, Jasper’s has earned numerous awards and accolades from the hospitality industry press and their customers. A four-star rating from The Kansas City Star, the coveted four-diamond rating from AAA, and most recently, Kansas City’s Best Italian Restaurant by Zagat’s in the 2011 guide.

The Mirabile’s success stems from the dedication of the family to offer an inviting atmosphere and un-compromising standards for quality in their authentic Italian food and service. The dedication to their craft is legendary.  The secret?  They call it “MITH,” which stands for “Mirabile in the House”.  In over 57 years of service to Kansas City diners, there has been a Mirabile family member “in the house” every night at the restaurant.  A streak that will continue tonight…when you dine at Jasper’s!  But, even with over 17,000 nights with at least one of the Mirabile’s on the floor, both Jasper Jr. and his brother Leonard are quick to credit a core staff of long time employees with creating the Jasper’s “experience” that so many Kansas Citians love.  Several of their staff have been with the team for over 25 years, including their long-time kitchen general Marvin Lewis, who has been with Team Jasper for over 35 years!

In the end, it’s all about what comes to the table from the well-worn pans in Jasper’s Kitchen. One of the signatures of this Italian gem is the tasty balance of old school tradition, blended with specialty creations that you won’t find anywhere else. And we’re not just talking KC! You won’t find them anywhere in the country. Jasper’s exclusives, such as SCAMPI ALLA LIVORNESE and Lobster Cappuccino join the table alongside new Jasper’s hits such as fresh tableside mozzarella and keep the legions of Jasper’s devotees coming back again and again.

The Mirabile’s love Kansas City and love doing business with great companies like Arvest Bank.  They look forward to seeing you soon!  One thing is for sure…..one of them will be in the house!
