Mobile Banking Support - iPhone and More

Tuesday, July 15 at 12:51 PM

I am getting a lot of questions through the blog and directly from customers about some wireless carriers and devices (think iPhone!) that are not currently supported by our mobile banking service.  Currently AT&T and Verizon are the primary carriers supported for our mobile banking product.  We have received many questions from you about Alltel, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Sprint.  We are also anxious to be able to provide mobile banking to the customers of these wireless carriers.

Due to the importance and sensitivity of your banking data, Arvest mobile banking depends on encrypted transmissions over the wireless carrier's network and this is why not all carriers are currently supported.  Our mobile banking partner, Firethorn, is in negotiations with several wireless carriers and we are very hopeful additional carriers will be added in the near future.   In addition to the carriers, Firethorn is constantly working on supporting additional devices.

We will keep you informed of any new announcements in regards to new wireless carriers or devices as we learn of developments.  At that time we will certainly add the news to the blog, our main website, and to www.arvestmobile.com.  As a reminder, with Arvest Mobile Banking, you can securely check balances, transfer funds and pay bills, all from your mobile phone.  Learn more from our online demo located HERE.

You didn't mention much about adding the iPhone to AT&T's list.  Are they working on it?  I do all my banking, bills, receipts, etc. on the internet - Arvest website and would really appreciate it I didn't have to drag my laptop with me every time I travel.  What's the latest with adding the new 3G iPhone which does enough encryption for the business world now.  Thanks.

Firethorn, the Mobile Banking partner that works with Arvest has been certified as an authorized iPhone application developer and they are working hard on providing the Mobile Banking application for the iPhone.  Many banking customers around the country are awaiting this iPhone fix, and we have high hopes that it will be available very soon.  Sorry we can't be more specific, as soon as we know more and can announce it, you'll see it on the blog.

Well, it's good to know that you guys are working on the app for the iPhone :)

I've been and will wait patiently for this app, as it will be a lot more convenience than going through the website.

I can't believe you don't have the at&t TILT and iPhone set to use the Mobile Banking!  These phone were made for this type of thing. Yet the phones you have listed are old outdated models.  Please get on the ball.

I have the mobile banking app on my iphone.  I have noticed within the past month, it hasn't been working correctly.  I used to be able to view my checking transactions and transfunds.  Now when I click to view the details on my checking account, it gives an error being "Offline, some or all your accounts are temporarily Offine. Balances shown with an asterisk (*)".  The transfer funds button, says "Error, there was an error processing the request. Please try again."  The funny thing is the Savings button works just fine.  Any ideas???   I have tried uninstalling the app and reinstall.  Also, removed it from my mobile banking account.

Thanks!

I currently use the Blackberry (Curve) version of Mobile Banking frequently and never have any issues.  Love the new version.  Simple but gets the job done.  I'm moving to an iPhone soon (a week or so) and am glad there's a version for it now.  That's one of the apps I wanted to ensure was available before I switched.
